The machining sequence is arranged according to the principle of base surface first, rough first, fine second, and primary second. For general gear shaft parts, after preparing the center hole, first process the outer circle, then process other parts, and pay attention to separate rough and finish machining. In the gear shaft machining process, heat treatment is used as a symbol. Rough machining is performed before quenching and tempering treatment, semi finishing is performed before quenching treatment, and finishing is performed after quenching. This separation of the stages ensures that the finishing of the main surface is carried out without affecting the accuracy of the main surface due to the stresses in the processing of other surfaces.
When arranging the sequence of gear shaft processes, the following points should also be noted.
(1) The rough machining of the tooth profile of the shaft should be arranged after the completion of the semi finish machining of each outer circle of the gear shaft. As a gear shaft, the tooth profile machining is a relatively heavy workload and difficult processing content in the processing of the part. The machining position should be appropriately placed back to improve the positioning height of the positioning reference, and the tooth profile finishing should be arranged after all the outer circle and other surfaces of the part have been processed, Thereby eliminating the heat treatment deformation caused by local quenching of the tooth shape.
(2) The processing sequence of the outer circle surface should first process the large diameter outer circle, and then process the small diameter outer circle to avoid initially reducing the stiffness of the workpiece.
(3) The processing of secondary surfaces such as keyways on gear shafts should generally be arranged after finishing turning or rough grinding of the outer circle and before finishing the outer circle. If the keyway is milled before finishing turning, on the one hand, vibration caused by intermittent cutting before finishing turning can affect the machining quality and easily damage the tool; On the other hand, the dimensional requirements for keyways are also difficult to ensure. These surface treatments should not be arranged after finishing the main surface to avoid damaging the accuracy of the main surface.
