Roller bearings are used to support rotating rollers and are important components in the working stand of a steel rolling mill. They have the following working characteristics:
(1) High workload and limited radial dimensions. During steel rolling, the rolling torque is large and accompanied by impact load; Due to the requirement of the steel rolling process that the overall dimension of the roller bearing seat must be smaller than the minimum diameter of the roller body, the overall dimension of the roller bearing is limited and the unit load is large.
(2) Operating speed varies greatly. The operating speed of different rolling mills varies greatly, such as from 0.2 to 120 m/s. When the rolling mill is rolled reversibly, the rolling mill bearings frequently turn forward and backward. It can be seen that different forms of bearings should be used for rolling mills with different speeds.
(3) The working environment is harsh. When rolling on a hot rolling mill, the ambient temperature is high, and the cooling water and iron oxide scale of the roller are splashed; When rolling on a cold rolling mill, process lubricants (such as emulsion and rolling oil) are used to lubricate and cool the rollers and rolled pieces, and it is also possible to enter the bearings. Therefore, higher requirements are put forward for the sealing of roller bearings.
